The opening holes provide a warm welcome, with wide fairways and strategic bunkers inviting thoughtful play. As play progresses, the course gradually becomes more demanding, with holes requiring precision and careful shot placement.
One of the standout holes at Scotscraig is the 7th , a challenging Par 3 over a deep ravine, where club selection and accuracy are critical. The Par 4 13th is another notable hole, with a narrow fairway and well-positioned hazards forcing players to think carefully about their approach. The closing holes, particularly the 18th, offer a dramatic finish with a dogleg that demands both strategy and skill.
Scotscraig offers an enticing mix of challenge, natural beauty and strategy.

The 18-hole layout at The Duke's is renowned for its variety and the demands it places on players. Starting with a strong Front 9, golfers are immediately tested by wide fairways and strategically-placed bunkers that require both power and precision. The 1st, a Par 4, sets the tone with a generous fairway but the approach shot is tricky, as players must navigate the deep bunker guarding the green.
With the Back 9, the course becomes even more challenging. The 13th (Par 5) is one of the Duke’s signature holes, featuring a dogleg that bends around a stretch of water. The 16th, a demanding Par 3, is another standout, requiring precise iron play to hit the green. The closing holes at The Duke's offer a memorable finish, with the 18th being a Par 4 where golfers must avoid a series of bunkers and water features while managing their approach to the challenging, elevated green.
