Fondly called ‘The Lang Toun’ on account of its four-mile-long main street, Kirkcaldy also has a one one-and-a-half-mile promenade that, thanks to an exciting waterfront regeneration project, is perfect for a stroll along the Firth of Forth.

There’s always lots happening in Kirkcaldy. How about cheering on the Fife Flyers at an ice hockey game? Or going to the theatre? Or trying Segway driving? Or, in April, going to the famous Links Market, Europe’s largest street fair? Kirkcaldy has it all!

Kirkcaldy’s perfect for culture vultures. The Adam Smith Theatre regularly attracts excellent productions, while Kirkcaldy Galleries’ features work by the Scottish colourists and famous local artists, including Jack Vettriano.

Looking for family fun? Fife Ice Arena is home to Fife Flyers, the UK’s oldest professional ice hockey team. There are two beautiful parks with children’s play areas – Ravenscraig and Beveridge Park (which also has a boating lake) - while Cluny Activities offers Segway driving, footgolf, archery and more. And, every April, The Links Market comes to town with over 200 fair rides and attractions.

For cheese lovers… How about a trip to the home of Scotland’s largest herd of water buffalo? The Buffalo Farm at nearby Auchtertool is Scotland’s only producer of buffalo mozzarella, which is on sale in the farm shop.
