Fife Coast and Countryside Trust staff will lead this bike ride from Kincardine to North Queensferry in the first stage of our journey to St Andrews. Our knowledgeable team will help you discover more about this section of the Fife Coastal Path: its flora and fauna, and its modern and ancient history.

We’ll skirt the historic village of Culross (a starting point for the Fife Pilgrim Way) and the edge of Torry Bay Local Nature Reserve with its rare, salt marsh plant communities. You'll then continue to Charlestown, a planned village created in the 1750s. From there, journey along the promenade to the old harbour at Limekilns.Next, pass the famous shipyards at Rosyth before reaching the three iconic bridges at North Queensferry, to finish in the shadow of the Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You need to bring your own bike, helmet, appropriate clothing and refreshments. Please note that the finsh time is approximate and subject to fitness levels and refreshment stops.

This is the first stage in our Beach of Dreams journey around the Fife coast. There are 10 more stages that you can join in by either walking or cycling and each event is free of charge. See Eventbrite and the FCCT website for details and how to book.

Beach of Dreams is a UK-wide coastal arts festival that explores the unique heritage, culture and climate future of our coastline. Fife Coast and Countryside Trust are delighted that Fife is the Scottish location for this creative programme.Presented by Kinetika, Beach of Dreams sees acclaimed and emerging artists commissioned UK-wide to create works to help local communities connect with the natural environment. In Fife, artist Julie Brook will create a tidal sculpture from locally sourced materials, inspired by walks along the Fife coastline and talks with residents and artists. She will also lead workshops with local schools and community groups in partnership with ArtMovesFife.

Please note that this is a one-way bike ride. It starts at the Fife Coastal Path arch in Kincardine and finishes in North Queensferry where there is a railway station and local bus services for onward travel. Ferrytoll Park and Ride is two miles away from the end point.
