East Sands, on the south side of the old harbour, is an ideal venue for a fun-filled family day out at the seaside. This beach is located close to the East Sands Leisure Centre. It is a sandy beach with a path on the inland side. Due to the close proximity to the harbour and sailing club, there are a lot of water sports.
As well as being connected to the Fife Coastal Path, the beach facilities include lifeguards and first aid (seasonal), toilets, children’s play area, car parking and café.
Beaches are dynamic environments which means they are constantly changing. This is especially true for East Sands where the sand on and offshore has a habit of changing rather suddenly. So don’t always expect the beach to be where you left it!
East Sands are winners of a Keep Scotland Beautiful 2018 Beach Award.
East Sands toilets (opening times) won Gold in the National Loo of the Year Awards 2018.
