Founded by a group of railway workers in 1921, Thornton Golf Club moved to this beautifully-designed parkland golf course in 1925.

Originally a 9-hole course, Thornton’s golf course was extended to 18 holes in 1975. Offering a challenging yet rewarding experience for golfers of all skill levels, Thornton is considered one of Fife’s premier golf courses. With well-maintained fairways and immaculate greens, the course winds through mature trees, with scenic water features and strategically-placed bunkers.

The parkland setting ensures a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, while the fabulous combination of long and short par 4s, three strong par 3s and two long par 5s creates a highly enjoyable golfing experience.

what golfers say

Brilliant course in excellent condition, best greens I’ve been on all year. Looking at course map it looks like basic out-and-back layout but it doesn’t feel like it and the last 5/6 holes are crackers. Course is not long or overly punishing but enough to test you. Will be back.
