Built over 100 years ago by internationally-renowned course designer Harry S Colt, The Eden is famed amongst golfers for its wide fairways, troublesome bunkers, undulating greens and tricky Par 4s. It’s also home to several of St Andrews Links’ best Par 3s.
The Eden Course opened in 1914 to help satisfy the overwhelming demand for golf in St Andrews in the early 20th century – a demand which has continued to this day. Now one of seven golf courses maintained by St Andrews Links Trust, the beautiful Eden Course is many a golfer’s idea of paradise.
Gorse right and left of this tee gives the short par four an intimidating look. However, the fairway opens out at 150 yards and there is plenty of room to the right. A pronounced diagonal ridge runs from the back of the green, dividing it into two distinct halves. Check where the flag is before deciding on your approach strategy.
