Opened on 17th June 1922, Pitreavie has all of the hallmarks of a MacKenzie course such as the use of water features and natural terrain and the inclusion of testing multi-tiered, sloping greens. Qualities which, combined with Pitreavie’s reputation for a warm Scottish welcome, excellent golf facilities and fine hospitality adds up to a day of great golf.
As an added bonus, the course has spectacular views over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh, including the three engineering masterpieces spanning this mighty river – the Queensferry Crossing, the Forth Road Bridge and the iconic Forth Bridge.
This long demanding opening hole requires a good drive favouring the right hand side of the fairway. For those big hitters the green beckons. For those not so brave, a well placed second shot short of the burn would leave a straightforward shot to the green
