££ - Heathland
Ladybank has hosted final Open qualifying on seven occasions since 1978 and will once again play an important part in The Open Championship when it returns to St Andrews in 2027.
With its narrow, pine-tree lined fairways and small, often contoured, greens, Ladybank was recently Ranked No 2 in Great Britain's Top 100 Courses under £100 while its glorious heathland turf is widely-considered some of the best to play anywhere in the world.
Not a course for the faint-hearted – but once played, never forgotten.
The ideal tee shot favours the left hand side of the fairway to avoid being blocked out by the trees. The ridge short of the green can make the second shot appear deceptive - club selection is important. There is a blind bunker that sits at the back right of the green.
