Craighead Links is Crail Golfing Society’s Championship course – and is considered one of Scotland’s finest Championship courses.

This challenging, cliff-top golf course features sweeping fairways, expansive greens and ominous bunkers.

Designed in 1998 by world-renowned course architect Gil Hanse to provide golfers with a true test of their links golf skills while also making the most of Craighead’s stunning panoramic sea views over the Firth of Forth to the Isle of May and the Bass Rock, the course is intersected by Danes Dyke. This medieval stone wall was built by invading Vikings to keep out the local Pictish tribes and is now a reminder of this corner of the Kingdom of Fife’s pre-golf past.

Prepare to play our course

Accuracy is key on Craighead as any shots finding even the first cut of rough can often make hitting the green with your next shot tricky.

The best Par 3s are often the shorter holes, such as the 13th, which offers amazing views towards North Berwick. Enjoy!

When playing the Signature 17th, pick your club carefully.

what golfers say

Craighead offers a fun, testing and spectacular round of golf. Balcomie might get the headlines but Craighead is well worth the trip.
