Burntisland Golf House Club has an impressive golfing pedigree. Golf has been played at Burntisland since at least 1797 and the original Burntisland Golf Club, founded in 1898 and officially recognised as the 10th oldest club in the world, is fondly known as ‘The Old Club’.
Old Tom Morris was the first to spot that the land overlooking the Burntisland coastline where the course stands would make ‘A first class golf course’ – a suggestion that Willie Park Jnr turned into reality in 1896, with his original parkland layout being updated in 1922 by James Braid.
