Over the course of this month, as we lose the light from the late afternoons and the wind rattles the rafters, the museum becomes increasingly atmospheric with the creaking wood in the galleries and lengthening shadows of the cobbled courtyard. The old buildings feel more magical than ever, becoming the perfect setting for sharing stories and thinking about the long and interesting history of the site at St Ayles with our Seasonal Tales and Spooky Trails for children over the half term holidays.

From Monday 7th October to Sunday 3rd November we have a 'Pumpkin Trail' though the museum, marking out eerie spots in the galleries (with a slightly less scary version running alongside for little ones!) Free with general museum admission.

- On the afternoon of Sunday 13th October between 2pm and 3pm we have 'Spooky Stories' with Kipper the Cat in our Fishermen's Cottage Loft. Free.

- On the afternoon of Monday 14th October, drop in for seasonal crafts and activities between 2pm and 4pm. Free but donations towards cost of materials welcome.

-On Wednesday 16th October between 1pm and 3pm we're out and about at the East Neuk Family Learning Roadshow at Cambo with other local organisations celebrating the natural world in autumn. Free.

These events are all generally aimed at children between 5 and 11 and their grown ups. Children under age 9 must be accompanied.

No need to book but happy to answer any questions and its helpful to know if you're planning to come so give Jen a bell or drop her a line!
